PLAYER, mentor and coach — there is no role that Evie Massingham would not take on in the sport of hockey.
It is her willingness to help others as well as her club, the South West United Hockey Club, that has earned her a nomination for the Service to Sport category in the Local Sports Stars awards.
Evie’s sister, Charlotte Massingham, said her level of dedication to the sport as well as desire to help others was incredible.
“Evie is dedicated to her sport and the people that are brought together to play hockey,” she said.
“She is dedicated to hockey not only through the mentoring role she has at the club, as a player, mentor and coach for the club, Evie has touched many lives and has helped to contribute to the South West United Division 1 team this year.”
Massingham hasalso proven to be a star on the pitch.
The Capalaba resident was part of the South West Division 1 and 2 team this season, and played for the Queensland Schoolgirls under-19 team in 2014.
